DTDC (and every air-network courier) prohibits these. Items most often misjudged on the Udaipur → Imphal lane:

Common Udaipur → Imphal misjudgements
- Dried-fish, ngari and bamboo-shoot pickles (return-trip) — perishable plus olfactory; will not ship in either direction.
- Local liquor — alcohol is banned across DTDC, including return-trip gifting.
- Restricted-area paperwork for non-residents — courier delivery is to a Manipur resident at a Manipur address; we do not handle ILP/PAP processing.
- Attar bottles from the old city — these are oils. They cannot ship.

Why is the transit so long? Can it be faster?
Imphal is one of the longest courier lanes in India from western Rajasthan — the parcel travels Udaipur → Mumbai → Kolkata → Guwahati → Imphal, and Guwahati to Imphal alone is the better part of a day on NH37. Express via the air leg cuts the time to 4–5 days; surface honestly takes 7–8. We also build in a buffer because Manipur has periodic bandh and unrest that can suspend last-mile delivery for 1–2 days at a time. If we see disruption flagged on the day, we tell you up front.
Does my recipient need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) for the parcel?
No. ILPs apply to non-resident travellers entering Manipur, not to inbound courier deliveries. As long as the receiver is a resident at a Manipur address (with a normal ID), DTDC will deliver. ILP-related paperwork for the sender or for visiting family is a separate matter we do not handle.
How do the weekly Marwari B2B trade slots work?
We run a recurring Tuesday or Wednesday pickup slot for the Marwari trader households in Paona / Thangal Bazaar — consolidated 30–80 kg lots of textile samples, dry goods, festival stock or seasonal merchandise.
