What you’ll need at pickup.
Sweden uses EU TARIC. Tullverket is efficient — paperwork has to be accurate, but clearance is rarely the bottleneck.
KYC of the sender
One photo ID for the person whose name is on the AWB — Aadhaar, passport or driving licence. We photograph it at pickup.
Commercial invoice + recipient ID
Itemised invoice with values in INR or EUR/SEK. Recipient’s personnummer (Swedish ID) for personal parcels, or org-nummer for B2B — Swedish customs systems use these for fast clearance.
Prescription (medicines)
Doctor’s prescription with registration number for tablets. Läkemedelsverket (MPA) is strict — no injectables, no controlled substances, sealed strips only.
What Sweden doesn’t let in.
Standard EU restrictions plus Sweden-specific rules. Tullverket and police enforce strictly.
Don’t even try
- Alcohol of any kind — Systembolaget is a state monopoly; couriers have zero tolerance, even for sealed gift bottles.
- Snus and novel tobacco products — Swedish regulations apply; courier can’t handle.
- Drugs and controlled substances — including unprescribed tablets.
- Weapons and weapon-replicas — including imitation firearms and certain knives.
- Aerosols and pressurised containers — universal courier rule.
- Lithium batteries above 100 Wh — restricted on air leg.
- Counterfeit goods — seized and destroyed.
- CITES-listed items — ivory, certain corals, exotic skins.
Allowed with care
- Textiles and sarees — block-print fabric, lehengas, cotton clothing. Declare a fair value.
- Books and printed material — JEE/NEET prep textbooks, Allen / Resonance / Bansal study material, any topic.
- Sealed dry sweets — declare ingredients and allergens; Swedish allergy-labeling rules are strict.
- Tablets with prescription — sealed strips, doctor’s slip, no liquids or injectables.
- Non-precious jewellery — declare make and value.
- Small electronics — declare model and value.
- Papier-mâché and Rajasthani handicraft — fine; no untreated wood.

Kota-coaching-alumni care kits

Asked most often.
What’s a realistic transit, Kota to Stockholm?
6–8 working days for express, door-to-door, in normal conditions. Kota doesn’t have a major international airport — pieces ride to Delhi (~485 km, surface) or Jaipur-air-feeder (+0.5 day) onto the air leg to Stockholm-Arlanda. Tullverket typically clears clean parcels in 24–48 hours; last-mile via PostNord adds a day. For Umeå or northern addresses, add 1 day.
My son was a Kota-Allen-topper, now at KTH Stockholm — what care kit clears cleanly?
KTH is one of our steady Nordic lanes for Kota-coaching alumni. The kit that clears: textbooks (engineering material — declare titles and value), pressure cooker and steel tiffin (no wood), folded festival clothing, sealed dry sweets with allergen labels (Swedish rules are strict — declare nuts, dairy, gluten on the invoice), prescription tablets in sealed strip with doctor’s slip if applicable. Don’t send loose spices in poly bags; use sealed factory packs only. Express in mid-August lands before classes start.
Can I send Marwari business documents to a relative running a small firm in Stockholm?
Yes, completely routine — and Sweden makes this easy because Tullverket recognises commercial-document parcels with the recipient’s org-nummer on the invoice. Contracts, sample invoices, GST paperwork, family-firm documents all clear in 24–48 hours typically. We use express tracked international and send the AWB on WhatsApp the moment the booking happens.
