Send a parcel from Kota to Mumbai. We pick up free.
Roughly 870 kilometres down through Ratlam and Vadodara, 2 working days on DTDC surface — 1–2 days on air express with the Jaipur feeder. Pickup from your Kota address is free for parcels of 5 kg or more, including from Talwandi coaching hostels.
Pickup in Kota, Ratlam-Vadodara surface spine, delivery across Mumbai.
Pickup, Kota.
Within 60–90 minutes of your call. We bring tape, bubble wrap and a luggage scale; the parcel is sealed at your address — Talwandi, Rajeev Gandhi Nagar, Vigyan Nagar, Indraprastha or Old Kota.
Hub transit.
Same-evening handover to DTDC's Kota facility. Surface routes via Ratlam and Vadodara overnight to the Mumbai DTDC hub. Air express adds a Jaipur-feeder day before the air leg, so book before noon to keep next-day delivery on the table.
Mumbai delivery.
Onward sortation at Mumbai DTDC, then last-mile across Marine Lines, Bandra, Andheri, Borivali, Powai or Navi Mumbai — typically by working day two for surface, day one or two for express.
POD on WhatsApp.
Once delivered, we forward the proof of delivery (signature image and stamp) on WhatsApp the same hour. Useful for Marwari trade-house mailrooms in BKC and Lower Parel that want a paper trail.
Starting rates, Kota → Mumbai.
Final price depends on actual or volumetric weight (whichever is greater) plus the fuel surcharge in force on your booking date. GST is extra.
- Standard parcel (surface) from ₹120 / kg 2 working days. Min billable 5 kg.
- Express parcel (air) from ₹180 / kg 1–2 working days. Door delivery.
- Bulk consignment (35 kg+) from ₹120 / kg Min 35 kg. Surface routing.
Pickup is free in Kota on this lane for parcels 5 kg and above. Volumetric formula: (L × W × H cm) ÷ 5000.
Coaching-student care kits, Marwari trade documents, alumni IT-corporate parcels.
Coaching-student care kits (return leg)
Mumbai-resident parents whose kids are at Allen, Resonance, Bansal or Career Point in Kota — we pick up the post-exam returns from Talwandi, Rajeev Gandhi Nagar and Vigyan Nagar hostels and ship them home to Andheri, Powai, Borivali or Mulund. Books, kitchen kits, bedding, the lot.
Marwari business documents
Mumbai is the Marwari business capital — the textile, gems-and-jewellery and finance trade has heavy Rajasthani roots, and Kota's Marwari merchant families maintain offices in Zaveri Bazaar, Kalbadevi and BKC. Signed contracts, tender papers, GST notices on express.
Coaching-alumni IT-corporate parcels
Former JEE / NEET-Kota toppers now at Mumbai-IT, banking and pharma corporates — Lower Parel, BKC, Powai (TCS / Reliance / Kotak / Sun Pharma). Family parcels, sealed paperwork, document originals to office addresses.
Wedding outfits & returns
Destination weddings around Bundi and Chambal generate Mumbai-bound flows: photographer drives, decor returns to Mumbai vendors, leftover favours, framed prints. Bulk pickup over an afternoon, single GST invoice.
Tourism returns
Mumbai-resident visitors who came up to Bundi, Chambal Garh and Kota's Garadia Mahadev viewpoint usually buy more than they can fly back with — Kota-doria sarees, Kota-stone artefacts, brass. Packed at your hotel, AWB on WhatsApp before you board.
B2B commercial
Recurring shipments from Kota industrial-area suppliers (Kota chemical, Kota-stone fabrication) to Mumbai distributors. Weekly slots; rate sheet on contract.
A short, real list.
DTDC (and every air-network courier) prohibits these. Items most often misjudged on the Kota → Mumbai lane:
Banned outright
- Liquids of any kind — perfumes, attars, oils, gels, hand sanitiser
- Aerosols and pressurised cans
- Cosmetics, nail polish, fragrance samples
- Flammable solids and matches
- Currency notes and gold/silver bullion
- Lithium batteries above 100 Wh on the air leg
Common Kota misjudgements
- Coaching-hostel ghee tins / pickle jars — semi-liquid; the most common refusal we see on student-return packages. Sealed dry namkeen and packaged mathri are fine.
- Kota-stone slabs / large samples — heavy, fragile and volumetric-charged; commercial freight is a better fit than a parcel. Ask first.
- Loose handmade incense / dhoop — paste-based agarbatti is treated as flammable solid.
- Silver jewellery — non-precious silverwork is fine; precious-metal pieces are not.
AWB on WhatsApp. Track on dtdc.in. POD when it lands.
The moment the parcel is booked into DTDC, we send you the AWB number on WhatsApp. Type it into the public tracker at dtdc.in any time. When delivery happens we forward the POD — signed slip or photo — within the hour. For BKC / Lower Parel corporate towers, the recipient's office mobile on the AWB matters — mailroom rules vary by tower.
Specific to Kota → Mumbai.
If I book before noon, can the parcel reach a South Mumbai address by tomorrow evening?
On express, often yes — the lane runs Kota → Jaipur-feeder → Mumbai air, and a noon booking puts the parcel on the next-morning air leg, with last-mile in South Mumbai (Marine Lines, Fort, Colaba) by evening of day two. Surface is two full working days, so a same-time booking will still land mid-day on day two. For Bandra and Andheri, last-mile typically completes by midday.
My son is a Kota-coaching alumnus working at a Powai / BKC tech firm — can you deliver to his office?
Yes — Powai (Hiranandani / Tata Comm), BKC and Lower Parel corporate towers are all on Mumbai DTDC's last-mile network. Mark the recipient's full name, employee ID if any, and a working mobile number on the AWB. Most office mailrooms accept couriers between 10 AM and 5 PM; we time the AWB to land in that window. Express works best for next-day office handover.
I'm shipping coaching-hostel returns — books, kitchen kit, bedding — back to Mumbai after my child's exam. What's the realistic weight and cost?
A typical Talwandi-hostel return runs 25–40 kg across two cartons (books and stationery in one, kitchen-kit and bedding in the other). At ₹120/kg surface that's roughly ₹3,000–₹4,800 before fuel surcharge and 18% GST. We pick up free at the hostel address (5 kg+), seal both cartons there, and deliver to your Mumbai home. Two days in transit. We do this run a lot in May and November, when the boards and the JEE-mains windows close.
Tell us the rough weight. We'll come back in minutes.
