What you’ll need at pickup.
Denmark uses EU TARIC. Skattestyrelsen at Copenhagen-Kastrup is fast — paperwork has to be accurate, but clearance rarely stalls.
KYC of the sender
One photo ID for the person whose name is on the AWB — Aadhaar, passport or driving licence. We photograph it at pickup.
Commercial invoice + recipient ID
Itemised invoice with values in INR or EUR/DKK. Recipient’s CPR-nummer (Danish ID) for personal parcels, or CVR for B2B — speeds up Danish customs clearance.
Prescription (medicines)
Doctor’s prescription with registration number for tablets. Lægemiddelstyrelsen is strict — no injectables, no controlled substances, sealed strips only.
What Denmark doesn’t let in.
Standard EU restrictions apply, with a few Danish specifics. Denmark is socially relaxed but courier rules are zero-tolerance.
Don’t even try
- Drugs and controlled substances — Denmark is socially tolerant but couriers and Skattestyrelsen apply strict rules; including unprescribed tablets.
- Alcohol of any kind — courier zero-tolerance regardless of EU import allowance.
- Weapons and weapon-replicas — including imitation firearms and certain knives.
- Aerosols and pressurised containers — universal courier rule.
- Lithium batteries above 100 Wh — restricted on air leg.
- Counterfeit goods — seized and destroyed.
- CITES-listed items — ivory, certain corals, exotic skins.
- Certain Greenlandic-cultural items — protected materials cannot be re-exported via courier.
Allowed with care
- Textiles and sarees — block-print fabric, lehengas, cotton clothing. Declare a fair value.
- Books and printed material — JEE/NEET prep textbooks, Allen / Resonance / Bansal study material, any topic.
- Sealed dry sweets — declare ingredients and allergens on the invoice.
- Tablets with prescription — sealed strips, doctor’s slip, no liquids or injectables.
- Non-precious jewellery — declare make and value.
- Small electronics — declare model and value.
- Papier-mâché and Rajasthani handicraft — fine; no untreated wood.
Coaching-alumni care kits, Marwari documents, weddings.
Kota-coaching-alumni care kits
Many Kota JEE/NEET-toppers are now Indian-IT/pharma at Maersk, Novo Nordisk, Vestas in Copenhagen, plus Indian-engineering postgrads at DTU and Aarhus. Parents send books, kitchen tools, festival clothing, sealed dry sweets and prescription tablets — care-kit traffic peaks August around the Danish semester start.
Wedding outfits & festival sets
Sarees, lehengas, sherwanis, dupattas. Shipped ahead of weddings to Danish-Indian families; we recommend express to land 2–3 weeks before.
Marwari business documents
Kota’s Marwari trader-community sends contracts, sample invoices, GST documents, and family-firm paperwork to Denmark-resident relatives. Express tracked international.
Diwali parcels (non-food)
Diyas, decorations, pooja items. Express to Copenhagen and Aarhus before the festival.
Maersk / Novo Nordisk family parcels
Indian-engineering and pharma professionals on multi-year postings to Maersk, Novo Nordisk, Vestas head offices receive routine care parcels — children’s clothing, regional mithai (sealed factory packs), wedding-card boxes.
Returning-traveller baggage
Danish tourists who toured Kota or wider Rajasthan and shopped too much. We pick up from the hotel, pack, ship before they fly out so they don’t pay airline excess.
B2B handicraft to design boutiques
Danish design-shop owners buy block-print cushions, dohars, papier-mâché. Small-volume B2B with commercial invoice.
Indian-restaurant supply documents
Menus, supplier paperwork, contracts for Indian restaurants in Copenhagen and Aarhus. Express tracked international.
AWB on WhatsApp. Track on dtdc.in. POD when it lands.
The moment the parcel is booked into DTDC International, we send you the AWB number on WhatsApp. Type it into the public tracker at dtdc.in any time. When delivery happens we forward the POD — signed slip or photo — within the hour.
Asked most often.
How fast is Danish customs at Copenhagen-Kastrup?
Among the fastest in the EU. Skattestyrelsen at CPH typically clears clean express parcels in 24–48 hours; for the cleanest paperwork (recipient CPR-nummer, accurate itemised invoice, no flagged items) we’ve seen sub-24-hour turnarounds. The bottleneck on Denmark lanes is rarely customs — it’s usually the air leg from Mumbai/Delhi or last-mile to a small town.
What’s a realistic transit, Kota to Copenhagen?
6–8 working days for express, door-to-door, in normal conditions. Kota doesn’t have a major international airport — pieces ride to Delhi (~485 km, surface) or Jaipur-air-feeder (+0.5 day) onto the air leg to CPH; 24–48 hours for Danish customs; 1 day last-mile in Copenhagen or Aarhus. For Aalborg or smaller Jutland towns, add 1 day.
My son is a Kota-coaching-alumnus now at Novo Nordisk Copenhagen — can we ship to office address?
Yes — that’s a routine setup for us. Once cleared, last-mile to Copenhagen corporate addresses (Maersk, Novo Nordisk, Vestas head offices) is next-business-day. We just need the company name, building/floor reference, and a phone number. Office addresses actually clear faster than home addresses because reception desks always have someone to sign. CPR-nummer of the receiver still helps customs even if delivery is to office.
