03 — Rate band, Jodhpur → Singapore

Starting rates. Real pricing depends on weight.

Final price depends on actual or volumetric weight (whichever is greater) plus the international fuel surcharge in force on your booking date. GST is extra.

Starting per-kg rates

  • Express (5–7 days, door)from ₹900 / kg
  • Economy (7–11 days, door)from ₹650 / kg
  • Min billable weight0.5 kg
  • Pickup from JodhpurFree at 5 kg+

Volumetric formula: (L × W × H cm) ÷ 5000.

Worked example

A 2 kg parcel — say a small antique-replica decorative piece plus a leather sample, ~30 × 25 × 10 cm:

  • Volumetric1.5 kg (actual 2 kg billed)
  • Express, 2 kg × ₹900≈ ₹1,800
  • + fuel surcharge (~25%)≈ ₹450
  • + GST 18%≈ ₹405
  • Approx total, express≈ ₹3,000

Indicative only. Fuel surcharge and rate cards change. Large antique-replica furniture pieces ship via cargo, not courier.

04 — Customs & documentation

What you’ll need at pickup.

Customs paperwork is the most common reason an international parcel stalls. Singapore is fast when the paperwork is right. Antique-replica certification is a Jodhpur-specific extra.

KYC of the sender

One photo ID for the person whose name is on the AWB. We photograph it at pickup; not stored beyond DTDC’s record.

Commercial invoice + replica certificate

For antique-style B2B parcels: invoice listing items, quantity, value, plus a clear ‘replica / new manufacture’ certification. The recipient’s FIN or NRIC speeds clearance.

Prescription (medicines)

HSA reviews medicines crossing the Singapore border. Sealed strips, doctor’s prescription with registration number, name matching the recipient’s FIN. No injectables, no controlled substances.

05 — Singapore-specific restrictions

What Singapore doesn’t let in.

Singapore Customs is efficient but the rules are unusually strict for some categories. These are real Singaporean rules — not our caution. Items shipped against them are seized, and serious cases (especially drugs) carry severe criminal penalty for the consignee.

Don’t even try

  • Chewing gum — yes, really. Singapore’s long-standing cleanliness policy bans gum imports for non-medical purposes.
  • E-cigarettes & vapes — fully banned, including pods, refills and accessories.
  • Recreational drugs of any kind — death penalty for trafficking-quantity.
  • Pornography & religious-disrespectful materials — refused at customs.
  • Firearms, ammunition, weapons — strictly prohibited.
  • Untreated wooden packaging — antique-replica items must use ISPM-15 heat-treated or kiln-dried timber.
  • Endangered-species products — CITES enforcement is strict; declare leather hide-source.
  • Counterfeit branded goods — IP enforcement is taken seriously.
  • Liquids and aerosols of any kind — universal courier rule.
  • Lithium batteries above 100 Wh — restricted on air leg.

Allowed with care

  • Antique-replica decorative pieces — small / medium pieces ship by courier with replica certification; large furniture goes by sea-cargo.
  • Leather goods — Jodhpur leather mojaris, bags, jackets. Declare hide-source country.
  • Papier-mâché & decorative arts — declare honestly with item-level values; popular with Tanjong Pagar interior designers.
  • Textiles & sarees — Bandhej, block-print. Declare a fair value.
  • Sealed dry vegetarian sweets — factory-sealed, declare ingredients.
  • Tablets with prescription — sealed strip, doctor’s prescription, recipient FIN. No injectables.
06 — What goes Jodhpur → Singapore

Antique replicas, leather, restaurant supply paperwork.

Antique-furniture-replica B2B to Singapore villa-imports

Singapore’s villa-imports market and Tanjong Pagar interior designers source Jodhpur antique-replicas — carved boxes, painted chests, brass fittings, mirror-work panels. Replica certification with every parcel; ISPM-15 wood treatment where applicable.

Handicraft to Tanjong Pagar / Little India

Painted papier-mâché, miniatures, decorative arts to interior designers and Indian-merchant boutiques. Commercial invoice with HS codes.

Leather goods

Jodhpur leather — mojaris, bags, jackets — to Singapore specialty retailers and individual buyers. Declare hide-source country.

Decorative arts to Indian-restaurant-supply chain

Restaurant interior decor — mirror-work panels, brass items, framed miniatures — for the Little India and beyond Indian-restaurant supply chain. HS codes, recipient GST registration.

Returning-traveller baggage

Singaporean tourists who bought too much in Jodhpur. Picked up from the hotel, packed, ISPM-15 wood where needed.

Wedding & festival outfits

Sarees, lehengas, sherwanis ahead of Indian-Singaporean weddings. Non-precious jewellery boxes go in the same parcel.

Business documents

Contracts, GST paperwork, replica-export documents, agency agreements. Always express.

07 — Tracking & proof of delivery

AWB on WhatsApp. Track on dtdc.in. POD when it lands.

The moment the parcel is booked into DTDC International, we send you the AWB number on WhatsApp. Type it into the public tracker at dtdc.in any time. When delivery happens we forward the POD — signed slip or photo — within the hour.

08 — Three questions about Singapore shipments

Asked most often.

Can I ship a Jodhpur antique-replica chest to a Singapore villa-import buyer?

Small chests yes, full-size cabinets no — courier weight / dimension limits cap individual pieces at roughly 30–40 kg actual or volumetric. The lane works well for jewellery boxes, painted chests up to ~60 cm, brass-fitted boxes, mirror-work panels. Larger pieces go sea-cargo via a freight forwarder — different quote, ISPM-15 wood treatment, possibly bill of lading. Ask us to connect you to the right cargo-export contact.

Singapore really bans chewing gum?

Yes, since 1992. The ban is part of Singapore’s strict-cleanliness policy and is enforced. Medical and dental gum needs a prescription. Regular Wrigley’s or similar imported as a gift will be refused at customs.

How is transit only 5–7 days?

DTDC moves the parcel via Delhi (~600 km road feeder) or Mumbai (~960 km, also reachable from Jodhpur) onto direct cargo capacity to SIN Changi, and flights are very frequent. Singapore Customs is among the world’s fastest; clean paperwork clears in 12–48 hours. The Jodhpur road-feeder leg adds ~1 day vs Jaipur but the air and last-mile legs run identically.
