Starting rates. Real pricing depends on weight.
Final price depends on actual or volumetric weight (whichever is greater) plus the international fuel surcharge in force on your booking date. GST is extra. Antique-furniture-replica shipments are usually heavy and bulky — volumetric weight will dominate.
Starting per-kg rates
- Express (7–9 days, door)from ₹1,500 / kg
- Economy (10–15 days, door)from ₹1,100 / kg
- Min billable weight0.5 kg
- Pickup from JodhpurFree at 5 kg+
Volumetric formula: (L × W × H cm) ÷ 5000.
Worked example
A 2 kg parcel — say a small leather pouch and decorative arts samples for an Oslo design boutique:
- Express, 2 kg × ₹1,500≈ ₹3,000
- + fuel surcharge (~25%)≈ ₹750
- + GST 18%≈ ₹675
- Approx total, express≈ ₹4,425–4,950
Indicative only. Fuel surcharge and rate cards change. Norwegian import duty / VAT (25%) above NOK 350 is paid by the consignee.
What you’ll need at pickup.
Norway is not in the EU. Tolletaten clears separately, with Norwegian duty thresholds. For Jodhpur antique-furniture-replica B2B, the paperwork bar is higher — clean it once and the lane runs steady.
KYC of the sender
One photo ID for the person whose name is on the AWB — Aadhaar, passport or driving licence. We photograph it at pickup. For Boranada handicraft-cluster firms, GSTIN + firm name on the invoice.
Commercial invoice + recipient ID
Itemised invoice with values in INR or NOK, HS codes (9403 for furniture replicas, 4602 for handicraft, 4202 for leather goods), recipient D-number or fødselsnummer / Norwegian ENH number for B2B. Photos of antique-replica pieces are useful.
Fumigation / treatment certificate
For sheesham / mango-wood furniture replicas: ISPM-15 fumigation certificate where applicable. Norway and most Nordic customs check timber-treatment evidence carefully.
What Norway doesn’t let in.
Norway has its own restricted-goods list separate from the EU. Tolletaten and police enforce strictly.
Don’t even try
- Alcohol of any kind — Vinmonopolet is a state monopoly; courier zero tolerance, even for sealed gift bottles.
- Weapons and weapon-replicas — including imitation firearms and decorative knives without permit.
- Drugs and controlled substances — including unprescribed tablets.
- Aerosols and pressurised containers — universal courier rule.
- Lithium batteries above 100 Wh — restricted on air leg.
- Untreated wood without ISPM-15 — biosecurity-flagged. Furniture-replica shipments need treatment certificate.
- Counterfeit goods — seized and destroyed.
- CITES-listed items — ivory, certain corals, exotic skins, certain rosewood species.
Allowed with care
- Antique-furniture replicas (treated sheesham / mango wood) — ISPM-15 certificate, HS 9403, declared value, photographs.
- Handicraft (papier-mâché, brassware, lacquer) — fine; declare make and value.
- Leather goods — Jodhpur leather is well-regarded; declare treatment, no exotic skins.
- Decorative arts (mirror-work, marble, lac-ware) — declare value.
- Textiles and cotton clothing — declare a fair value.
- Tablets with prescription — sealed strips, doctor’s slip, no liquids or injectables.
- Books and printed material — straightforward.
Antique-replica B2B, handicraft, leather, weddings.
Antique-furniture-replica B2B to Oslo / Bergen auction houses
Sheesham and mango-wood replicas — almirahs, four-poster beds, sideboards, carved doors — from Boranada and Sardarpura ateliers to Oslo and Bergen auction houses and interior-design contracts. Scandinavian-design appreciation for Indian craftsmanship is real and quietly strong; we ship treated, ISPM-15-certified pieces with photographs and HS 9403 invoices. Volumetric weight dominates pricing — call us for an actual quote on bulky pieces, not just per-kg.
Handicraft to design boutiques
Papier-mâché, brassware, lacquer, mirror-work, marble inlay — small-volume B2B to Oslo design-shop owners and Bergen home-decor importers. Commercial invoice required.
Leather goods
Jodhpur leather is well-regarded — bags, belts, pouffes (no exotic skins). Declare treatment and value.
Decorative arts
Mirror-work hangings, lac-ware, marble inlay coasters and trays. Declare value.
Wedding outfits & festival sets
Sarees, lehengas, sherwanis, dupattas, bandhej. Shipped ahead of weddings to Norwegian-Indian families — Oslo and Drammen Sikh community. Recommend express to land 2–3 weeks before.
Diwali parcels (non-food)
Diyas, decorations, pooja items. Express to Oslo and Drammen so they land before the festival.
Returning-traveller baggage
Norwegian travellers buy heavily in Jodhpur — antique-replica furniture, leather, handicraft. We pick up from the hotel, pack, ISPM-15 certify where needed, and ship before they fly out.
Business documents
Contracts, supplier paperwork for Jodhpur exporters dealing with Norwegian buyers. Express tracked international.
AWB on WhatsApp. Track on dtdc.in. POD when it lands.
The moment the parcel is booked into DTDC International, we send you the AWB number on WhatsApp. Type it into the public tracker at dtdc.in any time. When delivery happens we forward the POD — signed slip or photo — within the hour.
Asked most often.
I run a Boranada antique-furniture-replica atelier and have an Oslo auction-house buyer — how does the lane work?
This is a routine lane for us. Three things make it run cleanly. First, ISPM-15 fumigation certificate on every wooden piece — Tolletaten and most Nordic customs check this carefully on sheesham and mango-wood imports. Second, commercial invoice with HS code 9403 (wooden furniture), itemised piece-by-piece value in INR / NOK, declared dimensions and weight, plus photographs of each piece (auction-house buyers want them anyway, and customs likes them). Third, Norwegian buyer’s ENH number / VAT number for B2B clearance. Express courier is rarely the right tool for full container loads — but for 1–4 piece sample shipments and high-value individual lots, courier with the right paperwork lands in 7–9 days, customs-cleared. We prep the paperwork in our Jodhpur office before pickup.
Norway isn’t in the EU — what does that change for my parcel?
Practically: paperwork. EU parcels go through TARIC at the first EU entry point and don’t face customs again. Norwegian parcels are cleared separately by Tolletaten, with Norwegian duty thresholds — duty above roughly NOK 350 (~₹2,800) and 25% VAT on most items. Most Schengen express still trans-ships through Frankfurt, Amsterdam or Copenhagen and then enters Norway, so transit isn’t much slower. Just expect the consignee to pay duty/VAT at delivery for anything that isn’t a low-value gift.
Can you handle leather goods to Norway, or are they restricted?
Treated leather goods — bags, belts, leather-and-fabric pouffes — clear Norwegian customs routinely with the right paperwork: declared treatment (vegetable-tanned vs chrome-tanned), HS code 4202, no exotic-skin source, fair declared value. CITES-listed skins (snake, exotic reptile) are seized; ordinary cattle-leather is fine. We’ve been shipping Jodhpur leather to Oslo and Bergen for years.
