Customs paperwork is the most common reason an international parcel stalls. China requires more detail than most lanes — HS codes are not optional. Antique-replica certification is a Jodhpur-specific extra.
KYC + sender declaration
One photo ID for the person on the AWB, plus a written sender declaration of contents.

GACC requires HS classification on every line. For antique-style B2B parcels: clear ‘replica / new manufacture’ certification (genuine antiques over 100 years need ASI clearance — outside the courier route). Recipient’s Chinese ID number speeds clearance.
Prescription (medicines)
GACC compliance for medicines is strict. Sealed strips, doctor’s prescription with registration number, name matching the recipient’s ID. No injectables, no liquid medicines, no controlled substances.
What China doesn’t let in.
China customs (GACC) enforces a long list of category and political restrictions. These are real Chinese rules — not our caution. Items shipped against them are seized, destroyed, and serious cases can mean criminal liability for the consignee.
Don’t even try
- Genuine antiques over 100 years — ASI clearance from India and Chinese cultural-import paperwork required; courier route is replicas only.
- Politically sensitive materials — books, images, media critical of the CCP; Tiananmen, Falun Gong, Tibet/Taiwan/Xinjiang advocacy materials. Strictly enforced.
- Encryption hardware, GPS modules, drones — PRC tech-import controls catch these even as hobbyist items.
- Untreated wooden packaging — antique-replica items must use ISPM-15 heat-treated or kiln-dried timber.
- Recreational drugs of any kind — severe penalty including the death penalty for trafficking-quantity.

Are Jodhpur antique-replicas competitive against Chinese antique-replicas?
Yes — and confusingly so. Both Jodhpur and Yiwu produce antique-style decorative pieces; some Chinese buyers (interior designers, set-dressers, hospitality buyers) want authentic Indian craftsmanship clearly marked as replica. The lane works. The customs side: invoice the parcel as ‘antique-replica, new manufacture’ with a year-of-make line — not as ‘antique’. GACC inspectors recognise the distinction. Why does China customs sometimes hold parcels for 3–7 days?
GACC runs randomised inspections — they pull a percentage of incoming parcels to verify HS codes and contents against the declared invoice. If yours gets pulled, expect 3–7 days extra at the gateway. Nothing you can do to avoid it; the only way through is paperwork that matches the parcel exactly. Under-declaring value or vague item descriptions guarantee a slow inspection.
What absolutely should not go to China from Jodhpur?
Genuine antiques over 100 years (ASI clearance required, courier-route only takes replicas). Untreated wooden packaging — must be ISPM-15 heat-treated. Politically sensitive printed material.
