Heavy parcels — 5 kg and above
Most common pickup. Free at this weight, anywhere in India.Boxes, cartons, equipment, books in bulk, machinery samples. Volumetric weight applies — see pricing below. The courier brings a luggage scale to weigh on the spot before booking, so the rate quoted is the rate billed.
Excess baggage
For students moving abroad and families relocating.Suitcases, duffel bags, kitchen kits, bedding. Air or surface depending on urgency and budget. We’ll talk you through what to keep in the suitcase and what to ship — moving abroad is the second-most-common reason people call us.
Household items & small relocations
Cross-city moves where a full packers-and-movers truck is too much.Crockery, books, clothes, small appliances, framed art. We pack with bubble wrap and corrugated layers; fragile items get a “FRAGILE” sticker and are routed surface, not air, where possible.
Bulk & commercial shipments
For shops, ateliers, and small manufacturers.Multi-box pickups, recurring weekly bookings, GST-billed invoices for your accounts team. If you’re shipping more than 50 kg a month from any one address, ask us about the partner rate sheet.
International shipments
To 220+ countries via the DTDC International network.Care packages to students, gifts to family abroad, B2B exports. Customs paperwork is on you (KYC, invoice, prescription where required) — we walk you through it before pickup so the parcel doesn’t stall at clearance.
Documents & small parcels under 2 kg
Available, but the counter is genuinely faster for these.We’ll pick these up too if you’d rather not leave home. Be aware: at this weight a counter visit is often quicker, and pickup may carry a small coordination fee outside the 5 kg threshold.

The volumetric formula
DTDC, like every air carrier, charges on whichever is greater — actual weight or volumetric weight. The formula is industry-standard:
A 30 × 30 × 30 cm box weighs 5.4 kg volumetrically — even if its actual weight is 3 kg, you’ll be billed for 5.4. We measure on pickup so you know before booking.

Every parcel we pick up — from a Mumbai apartment, a Delhi office, a Bengaluru flat, anywhere — is booked into DTDC’s pan-India domestic and international network and travels under a genuine DTDC AWB number that you can verify yourself on dtdc.in.
We don’t list Blue Dart, FedEx, DHL or any other carrier on this site. We aren’t a multi-carrier aggregator and won’t pretend to be one. What you get from us is one thing done well: doorstep pickup in your city, packed properly, into DTDC, with a real AWB on WhatsApp.
