Surat has one addressing habit worth learning: a shop address in one of the Ring Road textile markets needs the market's name, the shop number and the floor, in that order, because a single market building holds hundreds of shops and the rider cannot search it. Residential deliveries in Varachha, Katargam and Kapodra have the opposite problem — the recipient is often on shift when the rider arrives, so give us a number that is answered in the evening and, where possible, an alternate contact at the same address.

Can I courier diamonds, loose stones or gold jewellery from Bangalore to Surat?

Because Surat is roughly 255 kilometres closer and sits earlier on the same trunk. Both parcels ride the NH48 corridor through Pune and the Mumbai belt, but Surat is the first major Gujarat hub the line-haul reaches — 3–4 working days by surface — while the vehicle carries on to Vadodara and Ahmedabad, which is a 4–5 day lane. On air express the gap closes and both are 2–3 days. If you are shipping to relatives in both cities for the same festival, book the Ahmedabad carton a day earlier and they will land together.
How should I address a parcel to a shop in one of the Ring Road textile markets?
Give us four things and it goes first time: the market name, the shop number, the floor, and the shopkeeper's mobile. Those market buildings run to hundreds of shops on several floors and the rider will not find a shop by name alone. Two more practical points. Most markets keep a weekly closing day, so tell us which one applies to your buyer — a delivery attempt on a shut shutter is logged as undelivered and re-attempted the next working day.
