Send a parcel from Bangalore to Navi Mumbai. We pick up free.
A planned city of numbered sectors and named nodes, not a suburb of anywhere, and booked as its own lane. About 1,000 kilometres up NH48 through Kolhapur and Pune, then the expressway descent into Panvel — 2–3 working days on surface, 1–2 by air. Free pickup across Bengaluru at 5 kg and above.
Pickup across Bengaluru, NH48 and the expressway, delivery node by node across the 4007xx and 410xxx belts.
Pickup, Bengaluru.
Within 60–90 minutes across most of the city, and the eastern office corridor is where most of this lane starts — Domlur, CV Raman Nagar, Mahadevapura, Kadugodi and out to Varthur. That side needs a two-hour window in the evening peak, which is worth planning around rather than arguing with. The rider weighs the consignment at your desk and seals it there.
Bengaluru sortation.
Same-evening handover into DTDC's Bengaluru facility. The corridor into the Mumbai metropolitan region carries freight every working night in both directions, and that frequency is what lets a thousand-kilometre run hold a 2–3 day surface band without an air leg.
NH48, then the expressway.
North through Chitradurga, Hubballi-Dharwad, Belagavi, Kolhapur and Satara into Pune, then the expressway down the Bhor ghat and into the Panvel and Kalamboli side. Freight for Navi Mumbai enters from the south-east rather than crossing the harbour, which is why the eastern nodes often close a delivery earlier in the day than the island city does. Air express out of Kempegowda brings the whole run to 1–2 working days.
Node-by-node delivery.
The northern and central nodes — Airoli, Ghansoli, Koparkhairane, Rabale, Turbhe, Vashi, Sanpada, Nerul and Seawoods — sit in the 4007xx family, with CBD Belapur on its own number just below it. Kharghar, Kamothe, Kalamboli, Taloja, Ulwe and Panvel fall outside that family altogether, on the 410xxx series that belongs to Raigad district. Both are delivered; they are quoted and beat-planned separately, so the pin code decides everything.

Starting rates, Bangalore → Navi Mumbai.
Charged on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is greater, plus the fuel surcharge applying on your booking date. GST is extra.
- Standard parcel (surface) from ₹120 / kg 2–3 working days. Min billable 5 kg.
- Express parcel (air) from ₹180 / kg 1–2 working days. Door delivery.
- Bulk consignment (35 kg+) from ₹120 / kg Min 35 kg. Surface routing.
Pickup is free wherever you are in Bengaluru once the consignment reaches 5 kg. Volumetric weight is (L × W × H cm) ÷ 5000, and on this route it bites on export cartons and display material rather than on documents — a box of empty retail packaging will always bill on measurement. Document envelopes travel at the 5 kg minimum, so consolidating three separate sets into one envelope to the same recipient is genuinely cheaper than booking three.
Port documentation for JNPT, office hardware for the Airoli–Mahape belt, and CBD Belapur paperwork.
Shipping documents for the JNPT trade
The port at Nhava Sheva is the reason a lot of this lane exists. Bengaluru exporters, freight forwarders and their customs house agents move original documents against a vessel cut-off constantly — bills of lading, delivery orders, certificates of origin, packing lists, inspection certificates, endorsed sets that have to be physically presented. This is a deadline business, so it goes express with the CHA's firm name, contact person and mobile on the AWB, and we hand you the AWB number the same evening so you can send it up the chain. Tell us the cut-off when you book, not after.
Office hardware for Airoli, Ghansoli and Mahape
The business parks along the eastern edge — the Airoli and Ghansoli offices, the Mahape and Rabale technology and engineering estates — share an employer list with Bengaluru, and the equipment follows the transfers. Laptops on relocation, docking stations, monitors, network kit, test devices and asset-return consignments after a resignation. Bulky rather than heavy, so it usually bills on volume; send us the carton dimensions on WhatsApp and you will know the number before the rider arrives.
Banking, insurance and compliance files for CBD Belapur
Belapur is where a lot of the region's institutional back-office sits — banking and insurance regional operations, government departments, corporate registries. What travels is physical paperwork that cannot be emailed: signed and stamped originals, compliance submissions, audit files, verification sets, statutory returns. Express, with a department name on the AWB, because a large office receives into a central mailroom and an envelope addressed only to a company can sit there for a day.
Instrumentation and spares for the Turbhe–Pawane industrial belt
The trans-creek estates around Turbhe, Pawane, Rabale and Mahape are a working manufacturing area — engineering, electronics, pharma-adjacent and packaging units. They buy sensors, controllers, calibration items, seals, gearbox and pump spares out of Bengaluru. Dense consignments billed on actual weight, delivered to a stores window with a gate-entry reference rather than to a desk.
Trade samples and stock for the Vashi APMC markets
The wholesale market complex on the Turbhe side handles grain, masala, dry fruit, onion-potato and fruit in separate yards, and Bengaluru's spice, coffee and dry-provisions traders deal into it. What moves on a courier is samples, graded reference packets, printed and laminated packaging, labels and small consignment lots — always with a tax invoice inside the carton and a copy taped outside, because a commercial consignment crossing into Maharashtra is far cleaner to move with paperwork visible. Fresh produce itself is a different question entirely.
Household consignments into Kharghar and Panvel
The CIDCO housing belt on the Raigad side is where a lot of Mumbai-region families have actually moved, and their working children are frequently in Bengaluru. Books, kitchen kit, bedding, a monitor, a chair, the twenty or thirty kilograms that will never fit into an airline allowance. Past 35 kg you are on the bulk rate, which is why a five- or six-carton move up this lane costs less than most people expect.
A short, real list.
Network prohibitions first. The second card is what a port-and-industry city actually attracts, and it is not the list we see on residential lanes:
Banned outright
- Liquids of any kind, sealed containers included
- Aerosols, pressurised cans and gas cartridges
- Cosmetics, nail polish and fragrance samples
- Matches, lighters and flammable solids
- Currency notes, bullion and bearer instruments
- Live plants, seeds, soil and perishables
What a port city gets wrong
- Marine flares, signal rockets and distress pyrotechnics — ship-chandlery orders throw these up more often than you would guess on a lane feeding a port. They are explosives by classification, they cannot travel on any parcel or passenger network, and there is no packaging that changes the answer.
- E-cigarettes, vapes, pods and refill cartridges — the production, sale, storage and transport of these is prohibited in India outright, so this is not a carrier policy you can argue with. Consignments are refused at booking, and one found in transit is liable to be seized rather than returned.
- Chemical, dye and reagent samples for an export shipment — an exporter sending a pre-shipment sample to a lab or a buyer's office assumes a 50 ml bottle is trivial. If it carries a hazard class or an MSDS it is dangerous goods and it moves under a declared DG contract with a specialist, never inside a parcel network.
- Loose lead-acid, UPS and marine batteries — common on an industrial-estate lane and never carriable. A battery sealed inside a functioning device is accepted on surface; a bare cell or a standalone pack is not, on either leg.
- Container seals, samples and stock sent with no invoice — not a prohibition but the most frequent hold-up on this route. A commercial carton moving into Maharashtra without a tax invoice inside gets stopped at check rather than delivered, and unpicking that costs more days than the freight saved.
AWB on WhatsApp. Track on dtdc.in. POD when it lands.
You get the AWB number on WhatsApp as soon as the parcel is booked into DTDC, you can follow it yourself at dtdc.in, and the POD image reaches you within an hour of delivery. The one Navi Mumbai habit worth learning is the address order. This is a planned city: every node has its own set of numbered sectors, and the same sector number exists in several nodes at once. "Sector 15" alone is not an address here — "Sector 15, Vashi" and "Sector 15, CBD Belapur" are kilometres and a different rider apart. Write plot or building, then sector, then node, then pin. For a business park or an industrial plot add the company's registered name and any gate-entry reference; for a residential tower add the wing and flat number, because the security desk stops the rider at the gate and phones up from there.
Specific to Bangalore → Navi Mumbai.
The address I have is just "Sector 20" — is that enough to deliver on?
No, and this is the single biggest cause of failed first attempts in Navi Mumbai. The city was laid out as a set of separate nodes, each with its own sector numbering, so Sector 20 exists in Vashi, in Nerul, in CBD Belapur, in Airoli and in Kharghar simultaneously. A parcel labelled with a sector number and no node has no unambiguous destination, and the rider ends up phoning the recipient to find out which city he is meant to be in. Write it in this order and it goes first time: building or plot number, then sector, then node name, then the six-digit pin. The pin is the part that actually matters most, because it distinguishes the 4007xx nodes from the 410xxx ones on the Raigad side. If you only have a screenshot of an address, send it to us on WhatsApp before booking and we will tell you what is missing.
I have a vessel cut-off at JNPT. Can original documents get there in time?
Usually, on express, and this is one of the things we book most often on this lane. Air is 1–2 working days from Bengaluru, so an envelope collected in the afternoon and booked before the evening cut-off normally reaches a Belapur, Vashi or Sheva-side CHA office the next working day. Three things decide whether it actually works. Call rather than filling in a form when the clock is running, so a rider leaves immediately instead of on the next round. Put a named person and a mobile on the AWB — a customs house agency is a small office and an unnamed envelope waits. And tell us the cut-off date and time, because if it is genuinely tight we will say so and you can decide, rather than finding out on the tracking page. Saturday delivery into commercial addresses is patchy and Sunday is effectively out, so a Friday-evening booking against a Saturday deadline is not something we would encourage.
Are Kharghar, Kamothe and Panvel included in a Navi Mumbai booking?
They are all delivered, but they are not the same pin family and they are not automatically quoted at the same rate. The core nodes — Airoli through to Nerul and Seawoods, plus CBD Belapur — sit in the 400xxx family. Kharghar, Kamothe, Kalamboli, Taloja, Ulwe and Panvel sit in the 410xxx series that belongs to Raigad district, and they are worked as their own beats off the same regional operation. In practice the transit is the same 2–3 working days on surface, so nothing is lost by booking correctly; what you avoid is a parcel that gets re-rated in transit or pushed out for a second attempt because it was addressed to the wrong side. The Ulwe and airport-project side in particular is still building out, so give us the full pin and, for a site or under-construction address, a landmark and a mobile that will be answered.
