The traffic on this lane is mostly the return leg: bats going back for re-handling, knocking-in and repair, warranty replacements, rejected lots returning to a supplier, and sample pieces sent back with change requests. Pack a bat in a rigid sleeve or tube, never loose in a carton, and put the supplier's order reference on the outside.
Academy and club equipment orders
Bengaluru's cricket academies, school sports departments and club sides deal directly with Meerut suppliers, and the paperwork, sample kit, sizing sets and returned stock travel this way. If a consignment relates to a purchase order, put the invoice inside the box and a copy in a pouch on the outside; a supplier's stores will not open a return it cannot identify against an order number.

The Meerut-specific list
- Gold, silver and jewellery of any value — Meerut has a substantial jeweller's trade and we are asked about this more on this lane than on any other. The answer is a flat no. Bullion, coins, gold and silver ornaments and loose precious stones are excluded from courier carriage entirely; they are not a packing problem or an insurance problem, they simply cannot be booked. Use a bank or a licensed valuables carrier.
- Linseed oil for knocking in a bat — sent with a bat as a matter of habit. It is a liquid and it is flammable, so it stops the consignment. Send the bat; a bottle of oil costs very little at the other end.
- Loose blades, unsheathed scissors and knives — from a city that makes them. Sharps are carriable only when each edge is sheathed or taped, the item is boxed rigidly so it cannot cut through, and the contents are declared honestly on the waybill. Loose sharps in a poly bag are refused, and rightly so — they injure handlers.
- Air pistols, air rifles and their pellets — shooting is a real sport here and people do ask. Weapons and their ammunition, air-powered included, are outside courier carriage in every network.

Why does Meerut take as long as Delhi when it looks close on the map?
Because it is not on the same last leg. Meerut sits about 2,240 km from Bengaluru — roughly 90 km further than Delhi on the same trunk line — and, more importantly, it lies outside the ring of towns fed directly off the capital's own delivery beats. The consignment completes the long haul north and then makes a further run out to the 250xxx belt, and that extra leg is what keeps it in the 5–6 working day surface band rather than the shorter one. Express compresses the whole thing to 3–4 working days and is the routing we recommend here, particularly between December and January when fog across western Uttar Pradesh reliably takes a day off the surface schedule. Yes, cantonment addresses are on the delivery network, but they need to be written properly or the attempt fails at the gate.
