Where Bengaluru → Jaipur bookings go wrong
- Vapes and e-cigarettes — these are prohibited outright in India, so it is not a packaging question or a routing question. We cannot book them, and a parcel found to contain them is seized rather than returned.
- Spare lithium cells and power banks in gift boxes — a power bank slipped in beside a gadget is the commonest cause of a held consignment out of this city. The battery sealed inside a device is accepted on surface; anything loose is not.
- Drone kits and spare camera batteries — Jaipur is one of the most photographed cities in the country and shoot gear does move this way. A drone with its battery installed is refused, and loose camera cells are refused; ship the body and lenses, carry the batteries in your cabin bag.
- Firecrackers, sparklers and sky lanterns — bought cheap in Bengaluru before Diwali and sent to family. Explosives in any quantity are excluded from every courier network, and this one is a legal matter, not a policy preference.
- Fresh flowers, garlands and unsealed mithai — wedding and function shopping done in Bengaluru. Nothing perishable survives a 5–6 day surface run, and the network will not accept it on express either.

The AWB number is sent to you on WhatsApp as soon as the parcel is booked into DTDC; look it up any time at dtdc.in, and the POD image follows within an hour of delivery. Jaipur's last mile splits into two very different problems. Residential Jaipur is spread wide — Jagatpura, Mansarovar and Vaishali Nagar sit far out from the centre in different directions, so a precise pin code saves a day. Commercial Jaipur is the opposite: the Walled City bazaars are vehicle-restricted lanes where deliveries realistically happen in the morning trading window, and a shop address there needs the bazaar name, the shop number and a phone that is answered from behind the counter.
Specific to Bangalore → Jaipur.
Why is Jaipur quoted at 5–6 days when Udaipur on the same route is 4–5?
Because Jaipur is about 210 kilometres further along the same trunk. Both parcels ride north through Pune, the Mumbai belt and Gujarat, but Udaipur is reached first at roughly 1,860 km and Jaipur is a further leg beyond it at roughly 2,070 km, which pushes it into the next surface band — 5–6 working days rather than 4–5. On air express the difference narrows to a single day: 3–4 to Jaipur, 2–3 to Udaipur. The other thing that separates them is winter. Jaipur sits in the north Indian fog belt, and through December and January the surface leg can lose an extra day when visibility grounds road movement overnight. If you are shipping to Jaipur in peak winter with a date attached, book express or add two days of slack.
Can you deliver to Sitapura Industrial Area or Mahindra World City?
Yes, both are on the Jaipur delivery network, but they behave like industrial estates rather than addresses. Deliveries go through a gate and a stores or security desk, that desk usually has a receiving cut-off well before the working day ends, and in the SEZ portion the rider needs the unit's name exactly as registered plus a contact who can authorise entry. Give us the plot or unit number, the block, the receiving contact's mobile and the stores cut-off time when you book, and we will schedule the run to hit it. Without a contact, a consignment that arrives after the stores window closes waits until the next working day even though it is physically in Jaipur.
I'm sending a bulk stock consignment to a Jaipur retailer. What paperwork do I need?
Two separate things, and people conflate them. From us, you get a GST invoice for the freight and the AWB number in writing. From you, if this is a movement of goods rather than personal effects, the consignment needs a tax invoice inside the carton and — once the consignment value crosses the e-way bill threshold, ₹50,000 in most cases — an e-way bill generated by you as the consignor, since it is your GSTIN and your goods. Put a copy of the invoice in a document pouch on the outside of the carton as well as inside; Jaipur warehouse and shop receiving staff check the outer copy before they sign. If you ship to the same stockist regularly, ask us to set a fixed weekday pickup at your Bengaluru address on a contract rate with a single monthly invoice — the bulk band starts at 35 kg and it is the same ₹120/kg.
