02 — How this lane runs

Pickup along Bengaluru's southern industrial corridor, trunk haul north, delivery into sector-numbered estates.

STEP

Pickup, Bengaluru.

60–90 minutes across the core city. Much of this lane originates on the southern corridor — Bommanahalli, Begur, Hulimavu and the Hosur Road industrial stretch beyond them — where the collection point is a vendor unit or a stores bay. We come to the bay, weigh the consignment there and seal it in front of your dispatch clerk, so the paperwork and the AWB are settled before the rider leaves.

STEP

Bengaluru sortation.

Same-evening handover into DTDC's Bengaluru facility. Manufacturing dispatches usually clear in the afternoon, which is comfortable for the evening departure — but a consignment released after cut-off does not lose hours on a run this long, it loses a working day, so flag a late dispatch to us in advance and we will plan around it.

STEP

Line-haul north.

The long trunk run up through central India into the northern network and across to the Haryana side south of the capital. 5–6 working days on surface. Express out of Kempegowda closes it to 3–4, and for anything holding up a production line that is the only sensible routing.

STEP

Faridabad delivery.

Last-mile across the 121xxx series. The sector-numbered industrial estates and the NIT blocks are the bulk of it, alongside residential Old Faridabad, Sector 15 and the Greater Faridabad neighbourhoods off the expressway. Ballabgarh sits at the southern end and is served on the same lane. Industrial deliveries go through a gate, a gate pass and a stores window — the detail below matters more here than on almost any other lane.

STEP

POD on WhatsApp.

Once the stores desk receipts the consignment we forward the POD to you on WhatsApp — the stamped inward slip or the signature image — within the hour.

03 — Rate band on this lane

Starting rates, Bangalore → Faridabad.

Rated on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is greater, plus the fuel surcharge in force on your booking date. GST is extra.

  • Standard parcel (surface) from ₹120 / kg 5–6 working days. Min billable 5 kg.
  • Express parcel (air) from ₹180 / kg 3–4 working days. Door delivery.
  • Bulk consignment (35 kg+) from ₹120 / kg Min 35 kg. Surface routing.

Pickup is free at your Bengaluru dispatch address on this lane wherever the consignment is 5 kg or more. The volumetric calculation is (L × W × H in cm) ÷ 5000. Forged and machined parts almost always bill on actual weight, so the saving here is in packing discipline rather than routing — pallet-sized voids and oversized crates are what push a dense consignment onto the volumetric number. Add a day's slack to the surface leg through the December–January fog weeks.

04 — What goes Bangalore → Faridabad

Auto components, prototype parts and vendor consignments with a purchase order behind them.

Auto components and sub-assemblies

The backbone of this lane. Faridabad's plants and their tier-two vendors build components, and Bengaluru supplies a steady stream of counterparts — sensors, electronic control units, wiring looms, seals, bearings and bought-out parts moving against a purchase order and a delivery schedule. These ship best in the supplier's own returnable packaging where possible, with the PO number and the part number written on the outside of the box as well as on the invoice.

Prototype and first-article parts

Machined prototypes, 3D-printed fit checks, sample castings and pre-production parts sent north for trial assembly and approval. Small, low-weight, high-consequence: a week's delay on a first-article sample can move a whole programme timeline. These go express with the engineering contact's mobile on the waybill, and we mark the box so the stores desk routes it to quality rather than into general inward stock.

Gauges, fixtures and inspection tooling

Checking fixtures, plug and ring gauges, holding jigs and inspection masters travelling between a Bengaluru toolroom and a Faridabad line. Ground and lapped surfaces need oil, wrap and a rigid box — rust and knocks in transit are the two failure modes we see. Tell us if a fixture is heavy and awkward and we will crate it rather than carton it.

Instruments going for repair or calibration

Torque wrenches, dial gauges, load cells and test instruments moving in both directions between a Faridabad shop floor and a Bengaluru service centre. Keep the outward AWB, put both mobile numbers on the waybill, and ask for a delivery challan rather than a tax invoice where the goods are moving for job work and coming back — it saves an argument at the receiving end.

Vendor documentation and compliance sets

Signed purchase agreements, inspection reports, material test certificates, quality manuals and audit packs. Paper still moves in this industry because a wet signature and a stamped certificate are what an auditor asks for. Express, with the recipient named, and the AWB kept on file as your dispatch proof.

Parcels home from the Bengaluru workforce

Haryana sends plenty of engineers, technicians and shop-floor staff to Bengaluru's factories and workshops, and the return traffic is personal — clothes, a phone, medicines with a prescription copy, gifts before Diwali and Karva Chauth, a warm jacket ahead of the northern winter. Collected free from a rented room or hostel address, same terms as any commercial booking.

05 — What you cannot send

A short, real list.

The network prohibitions first. The second card is the automotive list — the things that come out of an auto-component dispatch bay and cannot legally or safely be couriered anywhere:

Banned outright

  • Liquids of every kind, sealed containers included
  • Aerosols, pressurised cans and gas cartridges
  • Flammable solids, matches and lighters
  • Corrosives, acids and solvent chemicals
  • Currency notes, bullion and precious stones
  • Cosmetics, fragrance and nail polish

The automotive list — refused every time

  • Airbag modules and seat-belt pretensioners — the one people are genuinely surprised by. Both contain a pyrotechnic charge and are classed as explosive articles. No courier network carries them; they move only as declared dangerous goods through a specialist forwarder.
  • Engine oil, brake fluid, coolant and lubricant samples — sending a sample bottle alongside a part is standard practice in this industry and it is refused every time. Send the specification sheet and the batch certificate instead.
  • Used parts with fuel or oil residue — a returned fuel pump, injector, carburettor or oil filter still wet inside. Residual fuel makes it a flammable article regardless of how the part is described on the invoice. Drain, degrease and declare it clean, or do not send it.
  • Paint, primer, thinner and touch-up tins — including small aerosol touch-up cans from a finishing line. Flammable liquids under pressure fail twice over.
  • Vehicle batteries and loose battery packs — lead-acid units are corrosive and excluded outright, and loose lithium packs from an EV or e-mobility programme cannot travel on either leg. A pack sealed inside a finished unit is a separate conversation — ask us before you book it.
06 — Tracking & proof of delivery

AWB on WhatsApp. Track on dtdc.in. POD when it lands.

The AWB number is sent to you on WhatsApp as soon as the consignment is booked into DTDC, you can track it yourself at dtdc.in, and the POD follows within an hour of receipt. Faridabad's last mile is dominated by one thing that catches first-time senders: industrial addresses do not receive like homes. A consignment arriving at a plant goes to a gate, where a security desk raises a gate pass, then to a goods-inward or stores window that has its own opening hours — commonly a morning and an early-afternoon slot, closed well before the shift ends. A parcel that reaches the gate after the window shuts sits until the next working day, and it will show as "arrived" on tracking the whole time. Give us the plot or unit number, the sector, the company name exactly as it is registered, the stores contact's mobile and the inward timing, and we will schedule the delivery run to hit it. For residential Faridabad, a house or flat number with a phone is enough.

07 — Three questions about this lane

Specific to Bangalore → Faridabad.

My consignment shows "arrived in Faridabad" but hasn't been delivered. Why?

Nine times out of ten it is the goods-inward window, not the courier. Plants and vendor units in the sector-numbered estates receive material through a security gate and a stores desk that operates fixed hours — often a morning slot and an early-afternoon one — and a consignment that reaches the gate after the desk closes waits for the next working day even though it is physically inside the city. The other common cause is a gate pass: some units will not let a delivery vehicle in without a named contact who authorises entry, and if the phone number on the waybill is a purchase manager who is in a meeting, the rider is turned back. Both are avoidable at booking. Give us the stores contact rather than the buyer, the inward timing and the unit's registered name, and we will schedule the attempt inside the window.

Can I send auto parts and samples on a regular schedule from my Bengaluru unit?

Yes, and it is the arrangement most of our manufacturing customers on this lane end up on. We fix a weekday pickup slot at your unit — the Bommanahalli, Begur and Hosur Road corridor is a standard run for us — and collect at your dispatch time rather than on a call, at a contract rate with one consolidated GST invoice against your GSTIN each month instead of a payment per consignment. Anything from 35 kg upward sits on the bulk band at ₹120/kg on surface, and urgent line-down items can be pushed to express on the same account with 3–4 day delivery. What you handle at your end is the commercial paperwork: tax invoice or delivery challan inside the box, a copy in a pouch outside, the PO and part number visible, and an e-way bill where the consignment value crosses ₹50,000.

Is Faridabad the same lane as Gurugram, and is Ballabgarh included?

Same state and similar numbers, different lane. Faridabad is the 121xxx pin series south of the capital at about 2,160 km; Gurugram is the 122xxx series on the western side at about 2,170 km. Both quote 5–6 working days on surface and 3–4 on express, and they cost the same at the starting rate, but they are delivered off different beats and are billed as their own lanes, so quote them separately rather than assuming one covers the other. Ballabgarh sits at the southern end of the Faridabad belt and is included on this lane. Greater Faridabad, the newer sectors off the expressway, are also standard delivery. If your address is anywhere near the district edge, send us the six-digit pin on WhatsApp and we will confirm the beat and the transit before we pick up.
