Realistic transit on the Ajmer → Mysuru lane?
Honest numbers: 4–5 working days on surface, 2–3 working days on express. Mysuru is roughly 2,200 km from Ajmer — and Ajmer has no airport, so the parcel feeds through Jaipur first (road feeder for surface, air feeder out of Jaipur–Mumbai–Bangalore for express). Don't believe quotes of 2 days on surface; that simply isn't physically possible for an Ajmer-origin lane without a same-day air booking at multiples of express rate.
How do you handle a Mysore-silk-saree return / wedding outfit on this lane?
Flat-pack — never folded sharp. Saree or outfit goes inside acid-free tissue, then a flat board insert, then a corrugated outer just slightly larger than the board. Zero humidity inside (silica gel sachet). Air-leg express (2–3 working days via Jaipur feeder + Bangalore air leg) is preferred over surface for silk because the parcel spends less time in transit warehouses where humidity varies. Can I ship Mysore-pak between Ajmer and Mysuru — and what about sandalwood oil?
Mysore-pak ships either direction ONLY when commercially vacuum-sealed by the manufacturer or a confectioner with shelf-stable packaging — those packs ship like any dry confection.
