Send a parcel from Ajmer to Mumbai. We pick up free.
Roughly 1,030 kilometres south through Ahmedabad and the western corridor — 2–3 working days on DTDC surface, 1–2 days on air express. Pickup from your Ajmer address — Dargah Bazaar, Civil Lines, Anasagar, Vaishali Nagar, or near Mayo College — is free for parcels of 5 kg or more.
Pickup in Ajmer, Ahmedabad transit, delivery across Mumbai.
Pickup, Ajmer.
Within 60–90 minutes of your call. We bring tape, bubble wrap and a luggage scale; the parcel is sealed at your address. For Dargah Bazaar / Khadim Mohalla pickups we send a scooter — narrow lanes near the Dargah don't take a four-wheeler.
Hub transit.
Same-evening handover to DTDC's Ajmer facility, then road movement via Ahmedabad — the western trunk route into Maharashtra. Overnight to the Mumbai DTDC sortation facility.
Mumbai delivery.
Last-mile to your recipient — Bandra, Lower Parel, Worli, Andheri, Powai, Mahim, or Navi Mumbai. Typically working day three for surface, day two for express.
POD on WhatsApp.
Once delivered, we forward the proof of delivery (signature image and stamp) on WhatsApp the same hour.

Sufi-tabarruk, Mayo alumni care, Pushkar returns, Marwari trade.
Sufi-devotee diaspora gifts
Mumbai has a substantial Sufi-Muslim community with deep links to Khwaja Garib Nawaz — particularly around Mahim Dargah and the older Muslim neighbourhoods. Cloth-only ziyarat parcels (chadar, prayer caps, dargah-blessed dry tabarruk, dates, sealed dry sweets) move regularly from Ajmer to Mumbai-resident devotees. Liquid attar / rose-water cannot ship — see below.
Mayo College alumni care kits
Mayo College's elite alumni network has a dense Mumbai concentration — South Mumbai, Bandra, Worli, Juhu. Small care boxes and gifts from Mayo-side parents and the alumni office to Mumbai-resident alumni. Surface is fine; express where time matters.
Pushkar pilgrim returns
Mumbai-resident Marwari families finishing a Pushkar Mela / Brahma temple visit usually buy more than they can fly back with — sealed dry prasad, brass diyas, rudraksh, religious books from Pushkar's bazaar (Pushkar is ~14 km from Ajmer; we pick up from your Pushkar hotel or your Ajmer address).
Marwari business documents
Ajmer-Marwari trade has long-standing Mumbai counterparts — Bhuleshwar / Kalbadevi cloth merchants, Zaveri Bazaar trade desks. Signed contracts, ledgers, GST documents move on this lane. Express only — surface is too long for time-sensitive paperwork.
Wedding outfits
Ajmer tailors and bridalwear ateliers shipping outfits to Mumbai-Marwari families before a wedding. Hanging-suit cartons, two-layer pack, surface where the timeline allows.
Government / sealed-cover docs
Ajmer is a divisional headquarters; sealed-cover documents to Maharashtra state offices, Reserve Bank of India Mumbai, and corporate compliance desks in BKC move on this lane. Express only.
A short, real list.
DTDC (and every air-network courier) prohibits these. Items most often misjudged on the Ajmer → Mumbai lane:
Banned outright
- Liquids of any kind — perfumes, attars, oils, gels, hand sanitiser, rose-water
- Aerosols and pressurised cans
- Cosmetics, nail polish, fragrance samples
- Flammable solids and matches
- Currency notes and gold/silver bullion
- Lithium batteries above 100 Wh on the air leg
Common Ajmer misjudgements
- Liquid attar / rose-water / fragrance oils — the single most common refusal on this lane. Dargah Bazaar is full of attar shops and devotees often assume small bottles are fine; they are not. They are oils, and they are banned outright on courier.
- Fresh kachoris, mawa sweets, ghee-based sweets — perishable and semi-liquid; do not pack with regular parcels even for festival gifting.
- Loose handmade incense / dhoop — paste-based agarbatti from the dargah area is treated as flammable solid.
- Silver jewellery — non-precious silverwork is fine; precious-metal pieces are not.
AWB on WhatsApp. Track on dtdc.in. POD when it lands.
The moment the parcel is booked into DTDC, we send you the AWB number on WhatsApp. Type it into the public tracker at dtdc.in any time. When delivery happens we forward the POD — signed slip or photo — within the hour.
Specific to Ajmer → Mumbai.
Can a parcel reach Bandra or South Mumbai by tomorrow evening if I book on express?
Often yes if you book before noon. Express is 1–2 working days on this lane — the air leg moves overnight via Mumbai DTDC, last-mile to South Mumbai or Bandra by next-day afternoon or evening run. Bookings after noon usually push delivery to day-after-tomorrow. If you need a same-evening Mumbai landing from Ajmer, give yourself the morning slot.
I want to send tabarruk from Khwaja Garib Nawaz's dargah to a devotee in Mahim — what can ship?
Cloth-only tabarruk works perfectly: chadar, prayer caps, sealed dry tabarruk (dates, sealed dry sweets where there's no ghee or moisture), religious books, prayer beads. What absolutely cannot ship is liquid attar, rose-water and fragrance oils — those are banned on every air-network courier, and they are the most common refusal on Ajmer → Mumbai. We tell senders this at pickup; if you've already bought attar from Dargah Bazaar, take it with you in checked baggage instead, not by courier.
I'm a Mayo College alumni-office contact — can you set up a recurring slot to ship to Mumbai-resident alumni?
Yes — the Mumbai Mayo-alumni concentration is large enough that this is a regular ask. We agree a fixed pickup day at the Mayo College area / alumni office, a contracted rate sheet, a single GST invoice format, and Mumbai-side delivery windows that fit the alumni recipient list. Useful for class-reunion mailers, magazine despatches, and graduation-year care packages.
