Common misjudgements on this lane
- “It’s only a small chain” — no. Any precious-metal jewellery is excluded regardless of weight or value.
- Costume / decorative non-precious jewellery — see the FAQ below; allowed only with KYC and a commercial invoice declaring it as non-precious.
- Coconut oil / spice oils — these are liquids; banned even in sealed bottles.
- Attar bottles from the old city — these are oils. They cannot ship.

Can you ship gold or precious jewellery to Thrissur?
No — and we want to be very explicit about this upfront because gold is Thrissur’s signature trade. Gold and silver bullion, gold jewellery, and precious-metal pieces of any weight are banned outright on every DTDC lane. We will not pick them up. If gold is what you need to move, please use a dedicated bullion-grade courier (insured precious-cargo carrier), not us. We do not make exceptions on this rule.
How is non-precious or costume jewellery handled, then?
Decorative-only, costume or non-precious jewellery — junk-silver fashion pieces, brass-base ornamental items, lac and meenakari pieces from Udaipur — can ship under a commercial invoice that explicitly declares the items as non-precious, plus the consignor’s KYC (GST + Aadhaar). If our pickup executive has any doubt at the door — for example unmarked yellow-metal items — we will decline politely rather than risk it. Tell us upfront on WhatsApp and we’ll guide the documentation before booking.
Do you deliver to Guruvayur, Punkunnam or Ollur?
Yes. Thrissur city pin codes (Round, High Road, Sakthan Thampuran Nagar) are direct DTDC last-mile from the Thrissur hub. Guruvayur, Punkunnam, Ollur, Chalakudy, Irinjalakuda and the surrounding Thrissur district go via DTDC last-mile, typically +1 working day on top of city transit.
