Send a parcel from Kota to Patna. We pick up free.
Roughly 1,100 kilometres via NH27 and NH19 through Agra, Kanpur, Lucknow and Varanasi, 3 working days on DTDC surface — 2–3 working days on express. This is one of our heaviest lanes: Patna is one of the largest Kota-coaching feeder cities, and Bihari-Marwari families are heavily represented in Kota coaching. Pickup from your Kota address is free for parcels of 5 kg or more, including from Talwandi and Rajeev Gandhi Nagar coaching hostels.
Pickup in Kota, Agra-Lucknow-Varanasi trunk, delivery across Patna.
Pickup, Kota.
Within 60–90 minutes of your call. We bring tape, bubble wrap and a luggage scale; the parcel is sealed at your address — Talwandi, Rajeev Gandhi Nagar, Vigyan Nagar, Indraprastha or Old Kota. Talwandi and RGN see the heaviest student-return volume on this lane in May and November.
Cross-country trunk.
Same-evening handover to DTDC's Kota facility, then road movement on NH27 → NH19 via Agra, Kanpur, Lucknow and Varanasi to the Patna DTDC hub.
Patna delivery.

POD on WhatsApp.
Once delivered, we forward the proof of delivery (signature image and stamp) on WhatsApp the same hour. Useful for Maroofganj and Khetan Market Marwari trade-house mailrooms that want a paper trail.

Bihar-Kota coaching-parent axis (heavy), IIT-Patna / NIT-P / NLU-Patna paperwork, Bihar government documents.
Coaching-student care kits (Bihar–Kota axis)
This is the heaviest lane in our network for student-return shipments. Patna and the wider Bihar belt (Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur) are among the largest Kota-coaching feeder regions — Bihari-Marwari families are heavily represented in Allen, Resonance, Bansal and Vibrant batches. We pick up post-exam returns from Talwandi, Rajeev Gandhi Nagar and Vigyan Nagar hostels and ship them home to Boring Road, Kankarbagh, Rajendra Nagar, Patliputra Colony. Books, kitchen kits, bedding, the lot. Heavy in May, June and November when boards and JEE-Mains windows close.
Outstation care kits (parent leg)
The flip side of the coaching-parent axis: Patna-Marwari and Patna-resident parents shipping outstation to Talwandi every few months — sealed dry namkeen, books, winter quilts, fresh sets of clothes. The flow is heavy in both directions through the academic year.
IIT-Patna / NIT-P / NLU-Patna paperwork
Sealed transcripts, sponsorship paperwork, fellowship originals to and from coaching alumni at IIT-Patna (Bihta), NIT Patna (Ashok Rajpath) and NLU Patna. IIT-Patna's Bihta campus adds a half-day over a Patna-city address — recipient phone is essential for hostel-block handover.
Bihar government documents
Files and originals to the Bihar Secretariat, BPSC office, Patna High Court and PSU offices. Express only — surface is too long for time-bound paperwork.
Marwari business documents
Maroofganj and Khetan Market are Patna's historic Marwari trade quarters — wholesale grain, dry-fruit and textile dealers with deep Rajasthani roots. Partnership paperwork, GST notices, contract originals on express.
Wedding outfits & returns
Bihari-Marwari and Rajasthani-Bihari weddings frequent on the Patna–Kota axis. Bulk pickup over an afternoon, single GST invoice.
A short, real list.
DTDC (and every air-network courier) prohibits these. Items most often misjudged on the Kota → Patna lane:
Banned outright
- Liquids of any kind — perfumes, attars, oils, gels, hand sanitiser
- Aerosols and pressurised cans
- Cosmetics, nail polish, fragrance samples
- Flammable solids and matches
- Currency notes and gold/silver bullion
- Lithium batteries above 100 Wh on the air leg
Common Kota → Patna misjudgements
- Coaching-hostel ghee tins / pickle jars — semi-liquid; the most common refusal we see on student-return packages. Sealed dry namkeen and packaged mathri are fine.
- Dairy-laden Bihari sweets — khoya peda, milk-based laddoo, chhena-based mithai are all banned. Only sealed dry namkeen flows on this lane.
- Marwari ghee-laden mithai — ghee and dairy-based sweets are treated as semi-liquid. Sealed dry sweets in vacuum pack are fine.
- Loose handmade incense / dhoop — paste-based agarbatti is treated as flammable solid.
AWB on WhatsApp. Track on dtdc.in. POD when it lands.
The moment the parcel is booked into DTDC, we send you the AWB number on WhatsApp. Type it into the public tracker at dtdc.in any time. When delivery happens we forward the POD — signed slip or photo — within the hour. For Maroofganj and Khetan Market inner lanes the last-mile typically runs on a two-wheeler from the nearest motorable road; recipient's active mobile on the AWB matters. Patna addressing leans on locality landmarks — write a clear nearest-landmark line below the address.
Specific to Kota → Patna.
Realistic transit — when can my Patna recipient expect the parcel?
Surface runs 3 working days; express runs 2–3 working days. The road-trunk runs across NH27 → NH19 via Agra, Kanpur, Lucknow and Varanasi — a 1,100 km cross-country leg that's the limiting factor. A morning pickup from Talwandi or Vigyan Nagar gets the parcel into the Kota DTDC bag the same evening; trunk runs over two nights with a daytime sortation in between; the Patna hub receives on day three and last-mile follows the same afternoon. Monsoon (June–September) can add half-a-day on surface during heavy rain; we flag proactively.
Why is the Kota → Patna lane heavy on coaching-parent flows?
Bihar is one of the largest Kota-coaching feeder regions — Bihari-Marwari families and Bihari middle-class families are heavily represented in Allen, Resonance, Bansal and Vibrant batches. The flow runs both directions through the year: parent-to-hostel care kits going Patna → Kota in the academic months (sealed namkeen, books, winter quilts) and student-return cartons going Kota → Patna in May, June and November (post-board, post-JEE-Mains). For a typical Talwandi-hostel return of 25–40 kg across two cartons (books in one, kitchen-kit and bedding in the other), surface at ₹120/kg works out to roughly ₹3,000–₹4,800 before fuel and 18% GST.
My son is at IIT-Patna Bihta — does that count as Patna last-mile?
Bihta sits on the Patna last-mile DTDC route, so yes — but allow roughly half a day extra over a Patna-city address. Recipient phone is essential for the handover; campus security and hostel blocks are easier to navigate when the rider can call ahead. Mark the AWB with hall/hostel block, room number and recipient mobile. Same applies for NIT Patna (Ashok Rajpath, on the city last-mile) and NLU Patna — both campuses get delivered as part of the regular city run.
