Send a parcel from Bangalore to Kurnool. We pick up free.
About 355 kilometres straight up NH44 through Anantapur — the shortest lane we run into Andhra Pradesh and the only one where the destination sits directly on the Bengaluru–Hyderabad trunk. 1–2 working days on DTDC surface, 1–2 by air express. Free pickup across Bengaluru at 5 kg and above, with most of this lane's bookings coming from Rajajinagar, Malleshwaram, RT Nagar and Yelahanka.
Pickup across Bengaluru, straight up the NH44 trunk, delivery across Kurnool and Rayalaseema.
Pickup, Bengaluru.
60–90 minutes from the call. This lane leans north and west — Rajajinagar, Malleshwaram, RT Nagar, Yeshwanthpur and Yelahanka — which happens to be the right side of the city for a northbound trunk departure, so a late-afternoon pickup here still makes the night's movement. We bring packing material and a scale and seal the box at your address.
Bengaluru sortation.
Handed into the DTDC Bengaluru facility the same evening. Kurnool is short-haul and sits on the busiest corridor out of the city, so there is no waiting for a lane to fill — it moves with the daily Hyderabad line-haul.
Straight up NH44.
North through Chikkaballapur, Anantapur and the Rayalaseema plateau on the Bengaluru–Hyderabad national highway. Kurnool is a stop on that trunk rather than a spur off it, which is exactly why a Tier-3 city gets a 1–2 day transit that several larger cities further away do not.
Kurnool delivery.
Off the Kurnool hub. The city runs on the 518xxx pin series and delivers quickly across the municipal area. The district towns on the same series — Nandyal, Adoni, Yemmiganur, Dhone — are worked on branch beats and normally sit a day behind the city, so give us the pin rather than assuming "Kurnool district" means one delivery clock.
POD on WhatsApp.
Signature image or stamped slip, forwarded on WhatsApp within the hour of delivery. On a lane this short you often have the POD before you have finished the week.
Starting rates, Bangalore → Kurnool.
The final figure is on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is greater, plus the fuel surcharge in force on the booking date. GST is extra.
- Standard parcel (surface) from ₹120 / kg 1–2 working days. Min billable 5 kg.
- Express parcel (air) from ₹180 / kg 1–2 working days. Door delivery.
- Bulk consignment (35 kg+) from ₹120 / kg Min 35 kg. Surface routing.
There is no pickup charge anywhere in Bengaluru once a parcel crosses 5 kg. Volumetric weight is calculated as (L × W × H cm) ÷ 5000. Kurnool is the one lane in our Andhra set where we routinely talk customers out of express: at 355 km both services sit in the same 1–2 day band, so surface at ₹120/kg does the same job as express at ₹180/kg on most consignments. Where the rate does bite is stone and cement-belt material — dense cargo is billed on actual weight and it adds up fast, so send us the real weight, not an estimate. Sankranti in mid-January is the seasonal peak here as on every Telugu lane.
Cement and granite-belt supplies, trade restocking, and Rayalaseema families sending home.
Plant spares for the cement and granite belt
Kurnool district sits in a limestone and granite country, and the works around it run on parts: bearings, conveyor components, seals, gaskets, screens, weighbridge electronics and instrumentation, much of it bought from Bengaluru's engineering trade in Peenya and Rajajinagar. These are downtime parcels — the machine is stopped while the part is in transit — so we book them on the first available movement and crate anything dense in timber with foam packing.
Granite and dimension-stone samples
Bengaluru's interiors and construction market buys stone from this belt, and small tile and slab samples move both ways with the quotations. Stone is heavy, sharp-edged and unforgiving of a cardboard box: we crate it, pad the corners, and bill on actual weight, which for stone is always the number that counts. Tell us the piece size before we quote so there is no argument at the door.
Rayalaseema families sending home
A large share of Bengaluru's Telugu-speaking workforce comes from the Rayalaseema districts, and Kurnool being the gateway to them, this lane carries the ordinary traffic of that connection: clothes, gift boxes, medicines for parents, documents, a replacement phone, wedding cards posted in bulk. The short haul makes people send casually and often rather than saving it for a trip home.
Medical and campus parcels
Kurnool is a district medical and education centre and pulls students in from across the region. Textbooks, reference sets, instruments, a laptop, hostel bedding at the start of term, and the admission and scholarship files that still have to travel on paper with a physical signature. Semester start is the visible peak; exam season is the second one.
Shop restocking off the highway
Because Kurnool is on the NH44 trunk rather than off it, retail reordering out of Bengaluru works on a genuinely short cycle — accessories, footwear, garments, hardware, stationery, packaging and display material. A shop can order on Monday and shelve it midweek. Repeat senders should be on a contract rate sheet, not paying per-parcel rates.
Vehicle and workshop spares
Two-wheeler and commercial-vehicle parts going out to workshops in the town and the district — filters, clutch plates, electricals, sensors, small assemblies. Dense, weight-billed, surface-routed, and completely routine. If the part is oily, it has to be drained and sealed before we can take it; see the list below.
What we cannot put on the truck.
DTDC and every network with an air leg refuse these. The second card is what actually gets attempted from Bengaluru into a quarry, cement and workshop district:
Banned outright
- Explosives, detonators, fuses and blasting material
- Compressed gas, aerosols and pressurised cans
- All liquids — including lubricants and coolants
- Flammable solids, matches, lighters and camphor
- Poisons, pesticides and industrial chemicals
- Currency notes, bullion and unset stones
Common Bengaluru → Kurnool misjudgements
- Anything from a quarry blasting store — detonators, fuse cord, cartridges. This is the refusal peculiar to this lane, and it is not a grey area: explosive material cannot travel on a courier network under any circumstances, in any quantity, however it is packed or labelled. It is also a criminal matter, not a service policy.
- Oily and unpurged machine parts — a used pump, gearbox or hydraulic assembly still holding oil is refused, because it leaks through a carton and contaminates the consignments around it. Drain it, wipe it, seal it in polythene and then box it, and the same part becomes perfectly shippable. We will tell you at pickup if it has not been done properly.
- Cement, chemical powders and unlabelled bulk material — loose powder in a sack cannot be identified at sortation and is treated as an unknown substance. Factory-packed, labelled retail units with an invoice are a different case. Ask before you pack a sack of anything.
- Loose lithium cells, power banks and inverter batteries — routine out of Bengaluru. A battery sealed inside a device travels on surface; a bare cell or a spare pack does not, and nothing above 100 Wh goes on the air leg at all.
- Home-made ghee, oil and wet pickle in the family parcel — sent constantly on this route because 355 km feels like nothing. Distance does not change the rule: dry podi and sealed dry sweets travel, anything pourable does not.
AWB straight away. Track it yourself. POD when it lands.
The AWB reaches you on WhatsApp the moment the parcel is booked into DTDC and is live on the public tracker at dtdc.in from then on. Delivery proof follows within the hour. On Kurnool the transit is rarely the issue — the address is. Put the recipient's mobile number on the AWB as a matter of course: Tier-2 delivery beats are thinner than a metro's, one rider covers a wide loop, and industrial and quarry-side addresses are described by landmark rather than by street. Add a landmark yourself. And during heavy monsoon, low-lying stretches near the rivers can slow the last mile for a day even when the trunk highway itself is running normally — the tracker will show it before we can.
Specific to Bangalore → Kurnool.
Kurnool is only 355 km away — can you deliver next day?
Often, but we will not promise it, and the reason is worth understanding. Our published band is 1–2 working days on both surface and express. What decides which of the two you get is not the distance — Kurnool sits directly on the NH44 trunk, so the line-haul is genuinely quick — it is the cut-off. A parcel picked up in the morning and booked into that evening's movement has a real chance of being out for delivery the next working day. One picked up late in the evening joins the following night's departure and lands the day after. Sundays and public holidays are not working days on either leg. Book before the afternoon and you give yourself the best case; the honest answer is still 1–2 days.
Do you cover Nandyal, Adoni, Yemmiganur and the rest of the district?
Yes, all of them are served, and they all share the 518xxx pin series with Kurnool city — which is exactly what misleads people. A shared pin series does not mean a shared delivery day. Kurnool city is worked directly off the hub and is usually the first delivery attempt. Nandyal, Adoni, Yemmiganur, Dhone and the smaller mandal centres are branch beats and typically add a working day on top of whatever the city gets. Tell us the destination town and pin when you book and we will quote the honest date for that town rather than the city's date.
Can I send a granite sample slab, and how would it be charged?
Yes, and it is a regular booking on this lane in both directions. Stone is billed on actual weight — volumetric never applies to something this dense, so the number on the scale is the number you pay. What matters is the packing. A slab or tile piece in a plain carton will break out through the side and either damage other parcels or shatter itself, so we crate stone in timber with foam or corrugated padding around every edge, and that adds a little to the packing charge. Send us the piece dimensions and approximate weight on WhatsApp before we come, and we will bring the right crate with us instead of making a second trip.
Rough weight, rough size. We'll quote it straight away.
A rider at your Bengaluru address, not a drop-off counter.
Message the desk on WhatsApp with your address and a rough weight, or just call. Bengaluru operates 24×7 here — if you need a parcel collected at eleven at night to make the morning trunk, say so and we will be there.
