Bengaluru has one of the largest Telugu-speaking working populations of any Indian city, and a steady share of this lane is simply people posting things back — gifts before Ugadi and Bathukamma, clothes for a function, something a parent asked for, paperwork that has to be signed at home. Small parcels, booked often, usually on surface because the extra day costs nothing when the occasion is a fortnight out.
Wedding invitations and trousseau
Bengaluru’s silk and ethnic-wear shopping pulls in buyers for Hyderabad weddings, and the boxes go back up this route. Invitation sets, pattu sarees, dupattas and blouse pieces, return-gift cartons. Invitation boxes are light and enormous, which makes them a volumetric case; ask us to consolidate several into one carton rather than booking five.
Service returns and spare parts
RMA hardware going back to a Hyderabad service centre, appliance and two-wheeler spares to dealers, replacement boards and modules under warranty. These want a copy of the service docket or delivery challan inside the box and a second copy taped outside — a returns parcel that arrives with no reference number sits in a service-centre store room for days.

Common Bengaluru → Hyderabad misjudgements
- Medicines, reagents and lab consumables — the defining refusal on this lane. Packaging samples and paperwork travel freely; formulations, solvents, reagent bottles and controlled substances do not. There is no temperature-controlled or cold-chain option on this service, so anything that must stay cold should not be booked here at all.
- Alcohol-based sanitiser and surface disinfectant — sent in bulk to office and lab addresses more often than you would guess. It is a flammable liquid by classification and it is refused, factory sealed or not.
- Ghee, cold-pressed groundnut oil and syrup sweets — the standard parcel-to-parents mistake. Dry sweets, sealed savouries and podi are fine. Anything that can pool, seep or melt is a liquid for shipping purposes and will be pulled at sortation, usually taking the rest of the box down with it.
- Diya boxes and kumkum sets tucked into wedding parcels — the invitation cards ship, the oil lamps and loose powders that get packed alongside them do not. Take them out before the rider seals the carton, not after the parcel is already booked.
- Gold or silver coins as return gifts — genuinely common in wedding consignments from Bengaluru. Precious metal is outside the carrier’s liability entirely and is declined at the counter, whatever the value.

Two things matter more on Hyderabad addresses than most. The gated townships along the western ORR — Gachibowli, Nallagandla, Tellapur, Kokapet — run security desks that will not hand a parcel up without a call to the flat, so the recipient’s live mobile number on the AWB is not optional. And the old-city lanes around Charminar and Begum Bazaar are narrow and heavily congested; riders work them in set windows rather than on demand, so allow a little slack on a commercial address there.

Can I courier medicines or pharma samples from Bangalore to Hyderabad?
Not on a standard parcel booking, and this is the question we field most often on this route. Prescription medicines, formulations, reagents, solvents and anything requiring refrigeration are all outside what a general courier network will accept — there is no cold-chain leg on this service and no way to add one. What does ship, and ships constantly, is everything around the product: cartons and label proofs, blister and bottle mock-ups, package inserts, regulatory dossiers, printed literature and commercial paperwork. If your consignment is a mix of the two, split it. On express, normally the next working day — the lane runs at 1–2 working days by air. Two practical notes for corporate addresses in Madhapur, Gachibowli and Kondapur. Most tech-park buildings take deliveries at a reception or facilities desk rather than at the floor, so put a named person and their mobile on the AWB or it goes into a mailroom queue. And weekend delivery into an office park is unreliable — a Friday-night booking for a Saturday desk is not a plan we would rely on. Surface, at 2–3 working days, is genuinely fine for anything without a meeting attached, and on a lane this short it saves real money.

Before you assume that is the figure, measure the boxes.
