Send a parcel from Bangalore to Chandigarh. We pick up free.
About 2,400 kilometres, most of it on NH44 — the corridor runs past Delhi to Ambala, and Chandigarh sits a short leg off it. DTDC surface takes 5–6 working days, air express 3–4. Free pickup from any Bengaluru address at 5 kg and above, booked through an HSR Layout desk that never closes.
North Bengaluru collections, the full length of NH44, delivery across the sector grid.
Pickup, Bengaluru.
60–90 minutes from your call in the core city. North Bengaluru is the natural catchment for this lane — Jalahalli, Yelahanka, Sanjaynagar, Hebbal and the Domlur side — partly because that is where a good many services and defence-establishment households sit, and partly because it is the right side of the city for a northbound departure. Give us the gate name for a campus or cantonment address. Tape, wrap and a scale come with the rider; the box is sealed at your address.
Bengaluru sortation.
Into the DTDC Bengaluru facility the same evening and onto that night's northbound load. At 2,400 kilometres this is among the longest domestic runs we book, so the evening cut-off is not a formality — an hour late at origin is a full working day late at the far end.
The length of NH44.
Hyderabad, Nagpur, Jhansi, Gwalior, Agra and on past Delhi to Ambala, where the Chandigarh leg turns off toward Zirakpur. It is one continuous trunk with no ghat section, which is why the transit holds steady outside winter. Express skips the whole thing with an air leg out of Kempegowda and lands in 3–4 working days.
Tricity delivery.
Chandigarh itself is the 160xxx pin series laid out on Le Corbusier's sector grid, and it is one of the easiest last miles in the country — numbered sectors, numbered houses, wide roads, no ambiguity about which lane a rider wants. Mohali and Panchkula are the qualification: they are separate towns in separate states with their own pin series, and they are billed as their own lanes.

Proof of delivery reaches you inside an hour of the signature — image or stamped slip, on the number that made the booking.
Starting rates, Bangalore → Chandigarh.
Billed on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is greater, plus the fuel surcharge in force on your booking date. GST is extra.
- Standard parcel (surface) from ₹120 / kg 5–6 working days. Min billable 5 kg.
- Express parcel (air) from ₹180 / kg 3–4 working days. Door delivery.
- Bulk consignment (35 kg+) from ₹120 / kg Min 35 kg. Surface routing.
Pickup is free from any address in Bengaluru on this lane once the consignment reaches 5 kg. Volumetric weight is worked out as (L × W × H in cm) divided by 5000. Because this is a 5–6 day surface run into the north Indian plain, two seasonal notes are worth building into your plan: December and January fog can cost the road leg a day, and the same weather is exactly when winter-clothing cartons — light, bulky and volumetric — are moving in both directions.
Hospital files, government paperwork, services-family parcels and campus consignments.
Case files and scans ahead of a PGIMER appointment
Chandigarh is the referral hospital city for a very large slice of north India, and PGIMER draws patients from several states. Families in Bengaluru send scan films, pathology reports in sealed carriers, discharge summaries and older case files ahead of a relative's consulting date, so the papers are in the right hands before the patient travels. Send them flat in a rigid envelope, never rolled, and book express — a report that lands after the appointment has cost the entire trip, not just the freight.
Documents for the Secretariats and the High Court
Chandigarh administers two states from the same city, and the paper flow reflects it: tender submissions, affidavits, service and pension records, land and allotment papers, and files for advocates practising at the Punjab and Haryana High Court. These are express bookings with the recipient's mobile on the AWB as a rule, and if a filing or hearing date is attached, tell us at booking so we can confirm the air movement the same evening.
Services and ex-services household parcels
The Bengaluru–Chandigarh link carries a steady stream of parcels between serving and retired forces families — records and discharge papers, uniform and kit items, things left behind after a posting, winter clothing sent ahead of a move north. Cantonment and station addresses deliver reliably provided you give us the unit or establishment name as it is formally written, the gate, and a mobile number the sentry post can call.
Student parcels for Chandigarh campuses
Panjab University and the colleges around Sector 14 and Sector 26 take students from across the country, and this lane carries the domestic side of that — books and reference sets, a monitor, bedding, a kettle, replacement electronics, and cartons going home at the end of a course. Address a hostel consignment with the hostel name and room number plus the student's mobile; the common room desk will not chase an unnamed parcel.
IT-park and business-district consignments
Chandigarh's IT Park and the Sector 17 and Sector 34 business belt receive samples, hardware, marketing collateral and contract sets from Bengaluru companies week after week. Office deliveries here are simple by north Indian standards — the sector grid means the rider is never hunting for a building — but a reception cut-off still applies, so name the floor, the company and a person who signs.
Relocation cartons for tricity moves
People moving from Bengaluru to a job in Chandigarh, Mohali or Panchkula ship six or eight cartons of household goods ahead of the family rather than paying airline excess on the same weight. Books, kitchen kit, bedding, a fan, a monitor. Everything on the refusal list below comes out of those cartons before we seal them, and we would rather find it at your table than at sortation.
A short, real list.
Network-wide prohibitions first, then the refusals that recur specifically on Bengaluru → Chandigarh bookings, which cluster around hospitals, liquor and winter buying:
Banned outright
- Alcohol of any kind, in any quantity
- Liquids, gels and sanitiser bottles
- Aerosols and pressurised containers
- Flammable solids, matches and lighters
- Currency, bullion and precious stones
- Ammunition, weapon parts and replicas
Where Bengaluru → Chandigarh bookings go wrong
- Biological and pathology specimens — the one that catches medical senders out. Reports, films, scan CDs and printed records travel freely. Blood samples, tissue in fixative, swabs, culture plates and anything wet from a laboratory are refused: they need a specialised diagnostic logistics service with cold-chain and UN packaging, not a parcel courier. Send the paperwork with us and let the hospital arrange the specimen route.
- Prescription medicines sent to a patient — a strip or two of a relative's regular medication inside a family parcel is a grey area we will not book blind. Tell us what it is; a small quantity of ordinary, non-narcotic, in-date medicine accompanied by a copy of the prescription can usually go on surface, while anything scheduled, refrigerated, injectable or in liquid form cannot go at all.
- Liquor bought in Chandigarh — the tricity's off-licences are famously cheap and this comes up on the return leg constantly. Alcohol cannot be booked on any courier network, sealed bottle or not, and moving it across state lines is a separate legal problem on top of the network prohibition. There is no version of this we can accept.
- Kirpans, ceremonial blades and decorative weapons — bladed articles are excluded from every courier network regardless of purpose, size or how they are packed, and that includes souvenir swords and letter-opener style pieces bought as gifts. It is a security rule applied at sortation, so there is no version of the booking we can make work.
- Loose lithium cells, power banks and drone batteries — Bengaluru is where the gadget gets bought, so the spare battery gets tucked into the same box. A cell sealed inside a device is accepted on surface; a loose cell, a power bank or a drone with its battery fitted is refused on both services.
AWB on WhatsApp. Track on dtdc.in. POD when it lands.
The AWB number comes to you on WhatsApp as soon as the consignment is booked into DTDC, it can be checked any time at dtdc.in, and the POD image follows within an hour of delivery. Chandigarh is genuinely one of the easier cities to deliver into. The Corbusier plan gives every address a sector, a block and a house number on a numbered grid, so a rider who has the sector and the house number does not need landmarks, does not need to phone from a junction, and does not lose twenty minutes to a badly named lane — which is not true of most cities this page's readers will have shipped to. Where it does get complicated is the tricity boundary. Mohali is SAS Nagar in Punjab, Panchkula is in Haryana and uses the 134 series, and although both are served, each is a separate destination with its own last mile and its own quote. Institutional deliveries — PGIMER, Panjab University, the Secretariats, the High Court — go through a central receiving counter with hours of its own, so name the department, the room or ward, and the person who will sign.
Specific to Bangalore → Chandigarh.
Does a Chandigarh booking cover Mohali and Panchkula?
No, and it is worth getting right before you book rather than after. The three towns function as one city in daily life but they are three administrations: Chandigarh is the Union Territory on the 160xxx series, Mohali is SAS Nagar in Punjab and carries both 160 and 140 series pins depending on the sector or phase, and Panchkula is in Haryana on the 134 series. All three are served, each is a separate last mile off a different arrangement, and each is quoted as its own lane — so a parcel addressed to Sector 70 Mohali is not a Chandigarh parcel even though it is fifteen minutes from Sector 17. Give us the pin code at booking, not the city name. Transit to Mohali and Panchkula is normally the same band as Chandigarh or a day beyond it, and we will tell you which when we quote.
How should I write a Chandigarh sector address so it delivers first time?
Write it the way the city is built: house or booth number, sector with its sub-sector letter if it has one, then Chandigarh and the 160xxx pin — for example a house number followed by Sector 34-A. That is genuinely all a rider needs, and it is why this lane has one of the lowest re-attempt rates we see. Three things still help. Add a mobile number, because a rider who cannot get an answer at the gate of a group housing society will mark the attempt failed regardless of how good the address is. If the address is a sector market booth or an SCO, say so and give the booth or SCO number, since those are numbered separately from houses in the same sector. And for an office, name the floor and the company rather than only the SCO number. Do not substitute a landmark for the sector number — landmarks are what people fall back on in unplanned cities, and here they are less precise than the grid.
Can I send medical reports, scans and medicines for a PGIMER appointment?
Reports yes, specimens no, medicines only with a conversation first. Printed reports, discharge summaries, scan films and imaging CDs are ordinary express cargo and this is one of the most useful things this lane does — get the papers to the relative or the consulting doctor before the patient makes a 2,400 kilometre journey. Send films flat in a rigid envelope rather than rolled in a tube, keep original documents with the patient wherever possible and send copies ahead, and put the attendant's mobile on the AWB rather than the hospital's landline, because a ward or an OPD counter is not a reliable delivery point. What we cannot take is anything biological — blood, tissue, swabs, culture material — which needs a specialist diagnostic courier. Medicines sit in between: tell us the item and we will tell you honestly whether it can move, because a small quantity of ordinary tablets with a prescription copy is usually fine on surface while anything injectable, refrigerated, liquid or scheduled is not.
Tell us the rough weight. We'll come back in minutes.
Give us the sector and the weight. We handle the rest.
WhatsApp the Bengaluru pickup address and a rough weight, or call and we will take it down on the phone. The desk here runs 24×7, and on a 2,400 kilometre lane an evening collection that catches tonight's load is worth making.
