KYC of the sender
One photo ID for the person whose name is on the AWB — Aadhaar, passport or driving licence. We photograph it at pickup; not stored beyond DTDC’s record.
Commercial invoice
For commercial goods, a printed invoice listing items, quantity, HS codes and value. For gifts, a written declaration suffices but value still must be stated. Portugal is in the EU — items above €150 attract VAT and possible duty under TARIC.
Recipient NIF / NIPC
The recipient’s NIF (Portuguese tax number) on the invoice helps Autoridade Tributária clear the parcel quickly; for B2B (VW-Autoeuropa-supplier, Renault Portugal-supplier), the NIPC is required. Medicines fall under INFARMED regulation — prescription copy mandatory.
What Portugal doesn’t let in.
Portugal is in the EU and follows TARIC rules. Despite Portugal’s decriminalisation of personal-use drug possession, courier networks have a strict zero-tolerance policy.
